Terms of Service
Private beta. Last updated 20 October 2026.
What this service is
Confidelio is software. Through it you engage an independent attorney under a limited scope engagement letter you sign with that attorney. Research on a case you open runs with an AI research agent under that attorney's direction. Your engagement letter sets out how a case proceeds and when the attorney's role on it ends. Confidelio is not a law firm, does not practice law and gives no legal advice.
What your attorney does and does not do
Your attorney directs research on your cases and represents you solely for the purpose of referring you to another attorney, or to themselves if they so choose. Your attorney does not appear for you in any case, does not give you legal advice on the merits, does not review your research, does not authorize any filing, and does not identify, track or advise on your deadlines. Your engagement letter sets out the full scope, and it governs.
Representing yourself
Once your attorney's role on a case has ended you may represent yourself on it and keep using the research agent, including for drafting and for information on how to file. That work is not under any attorney's direction and is not attorney-client privileged. Research and drafting you do in anticipation of litigation may be protected as your own work product; whether it is, is decided by a court. Anything you file, send or serve is your own responsibility.
The research is not advice
The research agent analyzes your situation and lays out options and their consequences. It does not tell you what to do. No attorney reviews its output before you see it. Do not act, or decide not to act, on it without the advice of an attorney who represents you.
Other attorneys
If you are given the names of attorneys who may be able to help, neither Confidelio nor your attorney has investigated them or recommends any of them, and neither is responsible for their work. Choosing an attorney is your decision. You may contact any attorney at any time.
Deadlines and emergencies
You alone are responsible for your deadlines. Nobody identifies, tracks or warns you of them. The research agent may discuss a deadline as part of the research when you ask about it; that is research, not advice on whether it applies. This service is not for emergencies or for anything that cannot wait.
Protection is not guaranteed
Your research is intended to be confidential and protected by attorney-client privilege and work product. Whether any protection applies is decided by a court, and no one can promise it. Research you do elsewhere, or share outside the service, is not covered.
Fees
Confidelio is free during the beta: nothing is charged, and Confidelio will tell you in writing before any charge begins. After the beta, plans are $20, $50, $100 or $200 a month, paid to Confidelio for the software.
Your plan pays for the software only. No part of it is paid to any attorney, and no fee for an attorney's services is charged or collected through Confidelio. Consultations, and any other work an attorney agrees to do for you, are agreed and billed between you and that attorney directly.
Your responsibilities
Give accurate facts, keep your login private, and do not use the service for unlawful purposes or outside the case you opened. The service will not help plan, carry out or conceal a crime or fraud, and communications made for that purpose are not protected.
Beta status and liability
This is a private beta provided as is. Confidelio operates the software and is responsible for its operation, availability and security; your attorney is not. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Confidelio's liability is limited to the platform fees you paid Confidelio in the preceding twelve months. Nothing in these terms changes the terms of your engagement letter with your attorney or any obligation the rules of professional conduct impose.
Ending
You may end your subscription and engagement at any time. The attorney may withdraw as the rules of professional conduct permit. Any protection over what was said during the engagement survives its end.
